What is Keyless Entry?
Keyless Entry is use of a mechanical or electronic lock that doesn’t require keys to open or close. These keyless locks are opened by using a simple code, a remote control, or even a a smartphone. There is also an option to use a fob to open these locks.
Keyless locks are stand alone physical locks, not a system, that can be both convenient and economical for business owners and homeowners. These simple locks are easy to program and operate and fit a multitude of security uses. We recommend Kaba Simplex and Alarm Locks for commercial installations, and keyless units by Scalage, Baldwin and Arrow for residential use.
From simple to complex.
Keyless Entry ranges from a mechanical tough lock that uses only one code to protect access to a swimming pool, to a electronic keypad lock that controls access to a music studio all the way up to a keyless system that allows up to hundreds of codes, proximity cards and user logs.
Commercially Proven.
There is a huge variety of keyless lock capabilities. Keyless entry is more economical that an access control system but can provide more options that traditional locks. They allow multiple code access as well as the use proximity/card access. These keyless locks provide the ability to easily add and erase codes but this can only be done on the physical lock itself, not remotely via computers.
Keyless homes? Yes!
Even though keyless entry was created strictly for commercial applications, the options for residential keyless entry has evolved tremendously. A homeowner can now choose from electronic, mechanical, or digital keyless entry systems. What once was bulky, industrial looking hardware is now offered in beautifully designed locks in various finishes that easily fit well with existing hardware in your home. These locks are easy to use which makes them very family friendly.
A KEYLESS ENTRY EXAMPLE
You own a studio leased by a dozen or so artists.
Instead of relying on locks and keys, you install a multi-code keyless entry keypad lock to as a way to control access to the property in both a very convenient and economical way. You provide each renter in good standing with a code to open the door.
As new renters come and old renters go, you simply add/erase codes on your keyless lock. This is especially handy if you need to quickly block a person’s access to your property. The convenience lies in that fact that you do not need to change locks, rekey locks or cut keys for new studio people, you just change the codes on your keyless lock.
